Last week, SNDAfrica had the privilege of participating in the Message Development Workshop on Healthy Diets and Fish Consumption held at Palm Shade Camp & Resort in Loyangalani, Marsabit County.
The workshop, convened by the World Food Programme WFP in collaboration with the County Government of Marsabit, Centre for Behavior Change and Communication (CBCC), UNESCO, and with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands EKN, brought together key actors from the health, nutrition, fisheries, education, and community development sectors.

Over the two days, partners co created culturally appropriate, practical, and impactful messages aimed at strengthening healthy dietary practices, promoting responsible engagement across the fish value chain, and increasing the consumption of nutrient dense foods including fish and drought tolerant crops within schools and communities.

SND Africa is proud to contribute to a process that places behaviour change, community participation, and local ownership at the centre of improving food and nutrition security in northern Kenya.

Together, we move closer to a future where households enjoy safer, healthier, and more diverse diets, and where the Lake Turkana fish value chain becomes more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient.
