Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local non-governmental organization established in 2007 and working with pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. SND’s work focuses on strengthening resilience, promoting dignity, and supporting sustainable livelihoods through interventions in humanitarian response, livelihoods development, protection, climate resilience, WASH, and institutional effectiveness.
Through partnerships with governments, communities, and development actors, SND continues to invest in sustainable solutions that improve access to essential services and strengthen community resilience.
RFQ: Supply of 10,000L Water Tanks & Construction of Tank Plinths
Strategies for Northern Development (SND) invites qualified and reputable contractors and suppliers to submit quotations for the Supply of 10,000-Litre Plastic Water Tanks and Construction of Tank Plinths in two schools located in Moyale and Marsabit Towns under the Resilience Approach to Natural Rangeland Ecosystem (RANGE) Project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) through Mercy Corps.
The intervention aims to improve rainwater harvesting and water storage capacity in schools, enhancing access to safe water for learners and school communities.
Scope of Works
The assignment includes:
Water Storage Infrastructure
- Supply and installation of two (2) branded 10,000-litre plastic water tanks
- Tank branding (logos to be provided by SND)
- Supply and installation of rainwater harvesting gutters
- Plumbing connections and associated fittings
- Installation of fascia boards where required
Tank Plinth Construction
- Excavation works
- Hardcore filling and compaction
- Reinforced concrete works
- Foundation and above-ground walling
- Reinforcement steel installation
- Formwork
- Plastering and screeding finishes
- Water fetching area construction
- Transportation and delivery of all materials to site

Submission Requirements
Bidders must attach the following mandatory documents:
- Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation
- CR12 or ID Copy (for sole proprietorships)
- Valid Business Permit
- KRA PIN Certificate
- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
- Duly completed and stamped BOQ
- Evidence of similar assignments completed
- Audited financial reports for the last two years or bank statements for the last six months
Submission Instructions
Completed quotations should be submitted on or before: 📅 16th June 2026 – 12:00 Noon via: 📧 procurement@sndafrica.org or delivered physically to: 📍 SND Offices – Marsabit or Moyale.
All submissions must clearly reference: SND – Mercy Corps /12/2026-001 Supply of Tanks as the email subject line or on the envelope.
