Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local non-governmental organization working with nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. Registered in Kenya in 2007, SND works towards a society where pastoralist communities are resilient and live a dignified life.
SND’s work focuses on peace, conflict resolution and governance; humanitarian assistance and emergency response; protection, gender equality and inclusion; climate justice and resilience; livelihood and enterprise development; WASH; and institutional effectiveness.
RFQ: Supply of Assorted Farm Equipment and Agricultural Inputs
SND, with funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) through Mercy Corps under the Resilience Approach to Natural Rangeland Ecosystem (RANGE) Project, invites qualified suppliers to submit quotations for the supply of assorted farm equipment and agricultural inputs to supported farmer groups in Sangante and Golbo Wards, Marsabit County.
The opportunity covers three categories:
1. Supply of Bee Hives
The RFQ includes the supply of 100 beekeeping inputs, comprising Cyprus timber Kenya Top Bar Hives with oil-curved metal stands, branded with the RANGE Project logo.

2. Supply of Kitchen Garden Inputs
The RFQ includes:
- 75% UV-stabilized agricultural shade netting – 12m × 12m
- Drip lines – 15cm double-emitter rolls
- 50g potato seed sachets – Rio Grande F1
- 50g Sukuma Wiki seed sachets – Thousand Headed
- 50g spinach seed sachets – Fordhook Giant

3. Supply of Fodder Seeds & Hay Cutting/Drying Tools
This category includes:
- Drought-tolerant fodder seeds – Boma Rhodes Grass
- Sickles
- Rakes
- Forks
- Tarpaulins for fodder drying – 3m × 4m
- Baling materials, including twine, bags and ties

Flexible Bidding
Vendors may submit quotations for all the items/equipment listed in the RFQ or for only one of the categories. Each quotation must clearly reference the relevant unique RFQ reference number in the email subject or on the envelope.
Important: Quoted prices should include transport costs to the SND Moyale Office.

Mandatory Submission Requirements
Suppliers are required to attach the following documents to their quotations:
- Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation
- CR12 or copies of ID in the case of a sole proprietorship
- Valid Business Permit
- PIN and KRA Compliance Certificate
- Duly completed, signed and stamped BOQ
- Proof of similar assignments completed
- Audited Report for the last two years or bank statements for the last six months

Protection, Integrity and Ethical Conduct
SND is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct throughout its procurement processes.
Suppliers must not offer gifts, inducements or anything that could be perceived as a bribe to SND staff. Any breach of this requirement may result in the termination of business relationships or existing contracts.
SND also expects suppliers to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and contractual requirements.
SND encourages participation from women-owned businesses, youth-led enterprises, persons with disabilities (PWD)-owned businesses, and suppliers from marginalized and underserved communities, provided they meet the applicable requirements and have the capacity to supply the requested goods.
