2. About the Procurement Opportunity
With support from the World Food Programme (WFP) under the Ecosystem, Community Livelihood and Infrastructure Project, SND intends to implement the:
Drilling of Dirdima Borehole
📍 Dirdima Village, Dabel Sub-Location, Moyale Sub-County, Marsabit County
The project seeks to improve sustainable access to clean and safe water for pastoralist communities in this water-stressed region.
SND hereby invites qualified, reputable, and duly registered borehole drilling contractors to submit quotations for the execution and completion of the above assignment.
3. Description of Work / Service
DRILLING OF DIRDIMA BOREHOLE WATER SUPPLY PROJECT
REF: SND – WFP/ESR-BH DRILLING 12/2025–001
Project Location: Dirdima Village, Dabel Sub-Location, Moyale Sub-County, Marsabit County
Scope of Works (Summary):

Mobilization and demobilization of drilling equipment and camps
-
DTH drilling of 8” diameter borehole to estimated depths of:
-
0–100m
-
100–160m
-
Above 160m (if necessary)
-
-
Supply and installation of:
-
152mm plain steel casing
-
152mm plasma slotted steel casing
-
-
Gravel packing, bentonite sealing and borehole development
-
Construction of concrete plinth and installation of well cap
-
Pump testing of the completed borehole
-
Geological logging and borehole completion data reporting
-
Water chemical and bacteriological analysis
-
Preparation and submission of all technical completion reports
All works must meet national standards and WASH sector technical specifications.
4. How to Apply

NCA Registration and Practicing License (Electrical, Water & Mechanical preferred)

Lead technical staff with:

Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Registration with the Engineering Board of Kenya

Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar assignments

Proof of extensive borehole drilling experience (Air and Mud Drilling)

Proof of similar assignments completed

Audited financial reports for the last 2 years
