Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local nongovernmental organization that has been dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities since its establishment in Kenya in 2007. Building on a strong foundation of successful initiatives and impactful work, SND expanded its operations to Ethiopia in 2019. The organization primarily focuses on working with nomadic pastoralist communities in the regions of Oromia, Somali, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. Our mission is to promote resilience and dignity among these communities by engaging in humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding activities.

Our comprehensive approach addresses immediate needs while also laying the groundwork for long term self-reliance and stability.
In order to effectively communicate the significant impact of our work and our strategic direction for the future, we are seeking a consultant to assist in the creation of a range of visual and promotional materials. These materials are crucial for articulating our achievements, strategies, and the ongoing needs of the communities we serve. The consultant will be responsible for developing infographics that succinctly present key elements of our strategic plan, producing a compelling 5-minute video that showcases our organization’s efforts in humanitarian, development, and peace work, designing and structuring our annual report for 2023, and creating a comprehensive brochure and profile for SND. These materials will not only enhance our communication with stakeholders, donors, and partners but also serve as vital tools for advocacy and community engagement.

By combining data driven insights with compelling visual narratives, we aim to highlight the transformative impact of our projects and the ongoing journey towards resilience and dignity for nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. The consultant’s expertise in graphic design, video production, and content creation will be instrumental in ensuring that our message resonates with diverse audiences and inspires continued support for our mission. This initiative is a key component of our broader strategy to enhance transparency, accountability, and engagement with all our stakeholders, ultimately driving greater impact and sustained development in the regions we serve.

❖ A cover letter expressing interest in the consultancy and outlining relevant
experience.
❖ A portfolio of previous work, particularly relevant examples.
❖ A proposed work plan and timeline for the deliverables.
❖ A financial proposal including consultancy fees and any other expenses.
