Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local non-governmental organization established in 2007 and working with pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. SND’s work focuses on strengthening resilience, promoting dignity, and supporting sustainable livelihoods through interventions in humanitarian response, livelihoods development, protection, climate resilience, WASH, and institutional effectiveness.

Through its programmes, SND works closely with communities, local authorities, and development partners to improve livelihoods and enhance community resilience.


RFQ: Supply of Farm Equipment

Strategies for Northern Development (SND) invites qualified and reputable suppliers to submit quotations for the Supply of Farm Equipment under the Resilience Approach to Natural Rangeland Ecosystem (RANGE) Project, implemented with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) through Mercy Corps.

The equipment will support farmer groups in Sangante and Golbo Wards in Marsabit County to strengthen agricultural productivity and community resilience.

Items Required

Interested suppliers are invited to quote for the supply of the following farm equipment:

  • Pangas – 20 pieces
  • Juakali Wheelbarrows – 5 pieces
  • Slashers – 10 pieces
  • Rakes – 10 pieces
  • Hay Bailers – 3 pieces
  • Spades – 10 pieces
  • Sickles – 40 pieces

Suppliers should ensure that the quoted prices include transport to the SND Moyale Office.

Submission Requirements

Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:

  • Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation
  • CR12 or ID copy (for sole proprietorship)
  • Valid Business Permit
  • KRA PIN and Tax Compliance Certificate
  • Duly completed and stamped BOQ
  • Proof of similar assignments completed
  • Audited reports for the last 2 years or bank statements for the last 6 months

Submission Instructions

Complete quotations should be submitted on or before 23rd March 2026 at 12:00 Noon via:

All submissions should clearly reference:

“SND–MERCY CORPS Farm Equipment – 2026” as the email subject line or on the envelope.
