🌍 About the Project

Strategies for Northern Development (SND), in partnership with tdh Germany and funded by BMZ, is implementing the project:
“Child Protection through Capacity Building, Transformation of Social Norms and Strengthening of Protection Mechanisms.”

This initiative is building safer, more inclusive environments for children by tackling harmful practices, unsafe migration, and systemic neglect.

💡 Why This Matters

SND has worked with nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia since 2007. Guided by seven thematic pillars; peace, humanitarian response, gender equality & inclusion, climate justice, livelihoods, WASH, and institutional effectiveness, SND envisions a society where all pastoralist communities thrive with dignity.

This tender is part of that mission: creating safe spaces for children through functional, community-based infrastructure.

Tender Options

📦 Option 1: Supply & Fabrication of a Container-Based CPU

  • Transform a 40ft container into a child protection unit.
  • Includes foundation, internal partitions, steel doors, windows, roofing, painting & finishing.

  • Masonry structure with reinforced concrete foundation.

🔐 Safeguarding Commitment

SND upholds strict child safeguarding standards. Contractors must:

✔️ Undergo background checks and comply with safeguarding policies
