The Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local non-governmental organization working with nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. SND was officially registered in Ethiopia with the Agency for Civil Society Organizations on October 21, 2019, under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

SND-Ethiopia operates from its Borana offices in Yabello and Dubluk towns, Borana Zone, Oromia National Regional State, implementing both development and emergency projects funded by various donors.

SND-Ethiopia is now inviting qualified and interested bidders to participate in the following construction projects:

Bid Requirements

Eligibility:

Contractors with a GC Grade 9 (IMX) or above, holding valid licenses and relevant experience in similar works, are eligible to apply.

Bid Document Access:

A complete set of bidding documents can be obtained from the SND Ethiopia Yabello & Dubluk Borana Field Offices during working hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) starting from the date this notice is published.

Bid Submission:

Bids must be submitted in duplicate, marked as ORIGINAL and COPY, enclosed in a sealed envelope.

Include a Bid Bond (CPO) equivalent to 1% of the bid offer. Cash bid security is not accepted.

Submit bids to the SND Borana Field Office in Dubluk before the deadline.

Technical Offer Requirements:

Bidders must include a clear methodology, equipment details, personnel plan, work schedule, site visit certificate, and proof of prior relevant experience.

Bill of Quantities:

The Bill of Quantities (BOQ) provided in the tender document must not be altered. Any changes, omissions, or excessive rates beyond expected market prices will lead to disqualification.

Bid Currency:

All rates and amounts in the BOQ must be expressed in Ethiopian Birr (ETB).

Bid Opening:

Bids will be opened at the SND Ethiopia Dubluk Office on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:40 AM, in the presence of bidders or their legal representatives.

Site Allocation:

Each bidder is allowed to win only one site. Submissions are categorized as follows:

  • Lot 1: Dubluk IDP 1
  • Lot 2: Dubluk IDP 2
  • Lot 3: Higo Kebele
