About Strategies for Northern Development (SND)

Strategies for Northern Development (SND) is a local non-governmental organization working with nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. SND was registered in Kenya in 2007 and works towards a society where pastoralist communities are resilient and live a dignified life.

SND’s programming focuses on peace, conflict resolution and governance; humanitarian assistance and emergency response; protection, gender equality and inclusion; climate justice and resilience; livelihoods and enterprise development; WASH; and institutional effectiveness.

Invitation to Submit Quotations

Strategies for Northern Development (SND), with support from AICS through Oxfam Italy and Oxfam Kenya, invites qualified and eligible suppliers to submit quotations for the following two procurement opportunities under the Integrated and Resilient Humanitarian Response to Climate Change for Crisis-Affected Communities in Marsabit and Turkana, Kenya project.

OPPORTUNITY 1: SUPPLY OF GALLA GOATS

RFQ Reference: SND AICS–GALLA GOATS / 2026-001

SND invites qualified livestock suppliers to submit quotations for the supply of locally adapted galla goats suitable for fattening.

The goats will support women’s livelihood groups in North Horr and Elgade, North Horr Sub-County, Marsabit County, as part of the project’s livelihood and resilience interventions.

Quantity Required

  • 160 female galla goats
  • 240 male galla goats
  • Total: 400 galla goats

The goats are required to meet the specifications outlined in the RFQ, including appropriate age, weight, health and suitability for the intended livelihood activity.

OPPORTUNITY 2: SUPPLY OF FARM TOOLS

RFQ Reference: SND AICS–FARM TOOLS / 2026-001

SND also invites qualified suppliers to submit quotations for the supply of farm tools and agricultural inputs to support livelihood activities.

The RFQ includes:

  • Hay balers
  • Agricultural slashers
  • Hay rakes
  • Sickles
  • Pangas
  • Jua Kali wheelbarrows
  • Certified fodder seeds
  • Agricultural gloves
  • High-strength agricultural ropes

Who Can Submit?

Qualified and eligible suppliers with the capacity to provide the requested goods are invited to participate.

Suppliers should carefully review the respective RFQ document and ensure that they meet all mandatory requirements before submitting their quotation.

The required documentation includes, among others:

  • Business Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation
  • CR12 or applicable identification documents
  • Valid Business Permit
  • PIN and KRA Compliance Certificate
  • Duly completed, signed and stamped BOQ
  • Proof of similar assignments completed
  • Audited reports for the last two years or bank statements for the last six months.

Submission Instructions

Quotations for either or both opportunities should be submitted on or before 23rd September 2026 via:

Each quotation must clearly indicate the appropriate RFQ reference number in the email subject line or on the envelope.

For the Farm Tools RFQ, the document specifically provides that quotations should reference SND AICS–FARM TOOLS / 2026-001.
